Smartsheet is seeking a Senior Business Systems Engineer to join our Corporate Systems Development team in Bangalore. This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable backend integrations using AWS services, powering mission-critical data flows across internal systems in Finance, People, Sales, Legal, and Engineering.

This role is based in Bangalore, India, reporting to the Senior Manager, Systems Development, and collaborating closely with global engineers, system analysts, and architects.
js, Python, VS code or similar Strong experience with AWS services, especially Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB Expertise in database design, schema modeling, and query optimization (DynamoDB & Snowflake preferred) Strong grasp of integration design patterns, secure API development (REST/SOAP), and system interoperability Develop and maintain GitLab based CI/CD pipeline implementations for tests, linting, deployment, etc.
Experience with managing infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) Demonstrated experience building and maintaining integrations with Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, Coupa, Stripe, Snowflake Familiarity with data validation, schema evolution, and cross-system reconciliation (preferred) Excellent collaboration and communication skills in a distributed, global team setting Confidence navigating production environments, owning critical issue resolution from end to end Experience delivering integrations and automation solutions across Finance, People, Sales, Legal, BI Proven ability to lead initiatives and proactively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders Comfortable working independently, while also mentoring and reviewing work for Level 1/2 developers The flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, new technologies, and evolving project requirements.
