• We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team and provide crucial financial insights and analysis to support our manufacturing operations
• As the Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring, evaluating, and improving financial performance, cost control, and profitability for the Heavy Equipment Group at Trident
• Expertise in cost accounting, financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, will be essential in driving informed decision-making and maximizing operational efficiency
• This role will report to the Assistant Manufacturing Controller
• Perform financial analysis and reporting for manufacturing operations, including cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Evaluate manufacturing processes, identify areas for cost reduction, and propose recommendations to improve operational efficiency
• Assist in the development and maintenance of standard costs for manufacturing products, ensuring accuracy and relevance
• Update standard labor rates annually to ensure accuracy in both costing and quoting activities
• Monitor inventory levels, analyze inventory turnover, and provide recommendations to optimize inventory management
• Provide support to Assistant Controller for Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and Estimates at Completion (EAC) accounting for Defense Programs as required
• Assist with periodic third-party audits (BDO)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and finance, to drive cost reduction initiatives and process improvements
• Continually monitor, correct, and update procedures as required to ensure accuracy of the ERP and accounting systems; areas of review include miscoding of A/P, plant reporting, account coding, pricing, and inventory consumption
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing and financial landscape

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Minimum of 1-5 years of experience as a Cost Accountant within a manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis
• In-depth knowledge of financial concepts, cost accounting principles, and manufacturing operations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work with complex data sets and perform accurate financial analysis
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment
• Willingness to travel as needed (10-20%)
