Through consultation with the VP of Operations, the GSC Transportation Teams, and the Director of Operational Improvement, key actions were identified to support the development and execution of critical Operational projects at the national, regional, and site levels, with a particular focus on Transportation performance
- Develop and oversee transportation routing projects from conception to implementation
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables aligned with business goals
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (logistics, operations, IT, procurement, etc.)
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management
- Design and implement efficient routing strategies to reduce transit time and costs
- Analyze existing transportation networks and identify optimization opportunities
- Utilize routing software and Telematic tools to model, simulate, and validate route performance
- Manage routing algorithms, fleet assignments, geofences, and service schedules
- Ensure compliance with regulations (DOT, FMCSA, state/local transport laws)
- Collect and analyze transportation data (fuel usage, mileage, delivery times, costs)
- Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to track route efficiency and service levels
- Conduct root-cause analysis for performance deviations and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with national and local vendors to establish working relationships, assign task, and expected project deliverables
- Strategically adjust department activities, policies, and practices to meet or exceed key performance metrics and customer satisfaction goals
- Company meetings and any other market activities to foster the company’s recognition within the business community
