• An employer is seeking a Network Engineer to support their Maritime Transportation Port in New Jersey

The engineer will manage and maintain a Cisco-based infrastructure, configuring and supporting routers, switches, and other network hardware while monitoring performance and troubleshooting connectivity issues to ensure consistent uptime and reliability Responsibilities include analyzing network data to identify trends and vulnerabilities, enforcing security policies, assisting with firewall management, and collaborating with IT teams to implement upgrades, document configurations, and provide technical support across departments

• This role is 100% on-site

SHIFT: Monday-Friday 8-5pm or 9-6pm with occasional night assistance and maybe weekends

• The ideal candidate will have strong familiarity with network protocols, hands-on experience with Cisco equipment, and excellent communication skills suited for a fast-paced environment
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networking and Fortinet firewalls
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, DNA Center, FortiAnalyzer)
• CCNP certification

Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

Strong Knowledge of routing (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), switching (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel), and VPNs (IPSec/SSL)
