• Under limited supervision from the shop foreman, the journeyman mechanic is responsible for performing work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, and overseeing special projects

• Welding and fabrication
• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment; perform major engine and transmission repairs and replacements as well as electrical diagnosis
• Perform plant inspections, diagnose any problems, and perform plant maintenance, including electrical
• Complete major road calls and perform field repairs
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment
• Prepare and maintain records and reports
• Maintain tools as required to do the job
• Operate forklift
• Maintain insurable driving record
