- Install, perform preventative maintenance, and repair a wide variety of commercial kitchen equipment
- Appliances include walk-in refrigerators, freezers, cold bars, dishwashers, conveyors, commercial food disposers, oven ranges, deep fryers, grills, steamers, kettles, mixers, and various other types of appliances
- Add or remove refrigerant fluids when necessary
- Start system, observe operation, read gauges and instruments, and adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in system
- Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components
- Replaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair systems
- Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on appliances
- Calibrate equipment when necessary
- Utilize hand tools, test equipment, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s specification manuals to perform duties
- Examine appliances during operating cycle to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks and loose parts, and disassembles appliances and examines mechanical and electrical parts
- Trace electrical circuits to locate shorts and grounds to adjust contact points and clean parts
Replace worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers and defective wiring, repairs and adjusts appliance motors, reassembles appliance, adjusts pulleys, and lubricates moving parts, using hand tools, and lubricating equipment
- Test water pressure and locate leaks
- Prepare and maintains related reports, records, and requisitions as required
- Assists in the inventory of equipment, tools, and parts
- Responsible for the proper handling, maintenance, use, and accountability of all equipment, tools, and parts to which assigned
- Adheres to all safety standards
- Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor
Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time
