• Reporting to the Foundations Lab manager, the position enjoys a highly visible role within the organization with opportunities to collaborate closely with leading technology players in the Silicon Valley network
• This is a very hands-on role, where the candidate will be expected to lead by owning solutions from inception to delivery
• Establish and drive thought leadership opportunities related to topics of importance
• Generate innovative ideas, establish new technology development directions, and shape and execute technical projects
• Work with AI engineers to integrate ML solutions in the wider technology landscape
• Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and contribute to technical discussions and reviews as an expert in related areas of responsibility
• Actively disseminate knowledge via webinars, talks and tutorials for the technical community within SLB

Work across multiple cross-functional teams in high-visibility roles to prototype end-to-end data and software solutions

• The candidate should have demonstratable, hands-on skills in at least two of the main themes of the Foundations Lab which include:
• Databases and data platforms
• ML & MLOps
• Cloud & Kubernetes
• Large scale data systems
• Willingness to provide technical, social, and practical mentorship guidance to others as needed
• MS / Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Science or similar disciplines
• Software development best practices
• Experience with cloud environments such as GCP, Azure and AWS

Strong oral and written communication skills

Drawing on solid foundations in computer science and experience with a variety of technologies, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build prototypes, de-risk solution ideas, innovate with emerging technologies and collaborate with other labs in the technology center, and across the global organization to help build the next generation of solutions for the Energy Industry

• Apply best practices in software design, DevOps, coding, testing, security and automation

15+ years of relevant experience in technical areas related to cloud computing, distributed computing, ML Engineering, natural language processing, database systems, security, data platforms
