This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead strategic commodity initiatives for critical raw materials, including metallic tubing, red metals, and precious metals, within a large, complex aerospace and defense environment. You will drive cost optimization, supplier relationship management, and long-term sourcing strategies that impact global operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders, you will analyze market trends, negotiate contracts, and ensure supply chain efficiency and compliance. This position provides high visibility, challenging projects, and the ability to influence both internal and external partners. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills to deliver measurable results. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, negotiation experience, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives across a global supply base.

Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies for metallic tubing, red metals, and precious metals, including supplier consolidation and transition plans
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through spend analysis, market assessments, volume aggregation, and supplier negotiations
• Act as the subject matter expert for raw material commodities, maintaining awareness of market trends, supplier dynamics, and industry innovations
• Build and validate data sets to support sourcing decisions, cost optimization, and risk management
• Lead supplier selection processes, negotiate contracts and Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), and manage supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with business leaders, program management, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers to implement recommended sourcing strategies
• Ensure sourcing activities comply with corporate policies and regulatory requirements, including FAR/DFAR standards
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 7+ years of experience in supply chain or commodity management
• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry with knowledge of raw material specifications, drawings, and manufacturing processes
• Proven track record in supplier negotiation, cost savings, contract management, and project management
• Strong understanding of raw material markets, including mill and distribution channels
• Experience leading cross-functional or matrixed teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to travel up to 25% within the United States
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

• Competitive salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD, depending on experience
