Bonus points if you love restaurants too.
You love to code. You’re curious, passionate and constantly thinking about making code clean and better. You love technology and enjoy finding better ways to do things. You want to share what you discover and feel energized when you can learn from the people around you. When you build software, you consider how people will use it from all angles. You take pride in carefully honing your work until it feels reliable and effortless to use. You are calm during incidents when debugging production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
Join us to design and build the next-generation Enterprise Reporting platform—a mission-critical system that transforms how our company understands and plans for its future. This isn't maintenance; it's a greenfield architectural challenge to create a scalable, high-performance reporting engine powered by elegant, reusable visualization components. If you live to solve complex scalability problems and define the technical roadmap for products used by thousands, this role is for you.
Hands-On System Leadership: You won't just delegate—you'll be in the code, actively writing, optimizing, and reviewing mission-critical code using React, Redux, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Drive performance and maintainability through continuous, deep engagement with the codebase.
Architectural Vision & Ownership: Define and own the entire technical vision for the Enterprise Reporting system. Lead the design and execution of intuitive, scalable UI architectures capable of managing immense data complexity and delivering a "single pane of glass" experience.
Frontend Mastery & Quality Champion: Design and build sophisticated, reusable abstractions and an integrated data layer between the UI and backend. Set the highest standard for quality by implementing robust, sophisticated testing strategies using React Testing Library, Jest, and Cypress.
Deep Code Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React . You write code that is not just functional, but a standard for readability, maintainability, and performance. You possess an unquenchable curiosity to master the technologies you work with.
Strategic Architecture: Proven history of deep investment in code architecture and successfully driving multi-year technical roadmaps on established, complex codebases. You excel at creating generic, highly reusable components and scalable module systems.
Communication and Influence: The ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs (e.g., performance vs. complexity) to product managers, designers, and non-technical stakeholders. Experience collaborating intimately with design partners (e.g., leveraging Figma) .
At OpenTable, we pride ourselves on fostering a global and dynamic work environment. As a team member with us, you will benefit from a schedule tailored to accommodate a global workforce operating across multiple time zones. While the majority of your responsibilities may align with conventional business hours, there will be instances where you are expected to manage communications - via calls, Slack messages, or emails - outside of regular working hours to effectively collaborate with international colleagues, respond to restaurant partners, and/or address urgent matters. OpenTable will always abide by and consider local laws and regulations.
We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. We know the best ideas come when we bring different voices to the table, so we're building a team as dynamic as the diners and restaurants we serve—and fostering a culture where everyone feels welcome to be themselves.
