Summary:
- Protective Security Officers will provide a variety of security services for the Federal Protective Service contract.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Protect personnel and property in a professional manner.
- Meet and deal tactfully and politely with general public and visitors.
- Effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors.
- Identify, report, delay, or detain persons who violate rules and regulations.
- Conduct internal and external roving foot patrols.
- Traffic control.
- Ability to maintain excellent detection rate on x-ray machine.
- Detect and respond to alarms and emergencies.
- Secure entrances and exits during emergencies.
- Control keys and lock combinations.
- Communicate and remain accessible via two-way radio or company issued cellular phone.
- Understand and comply with all requirements defined within company documents to include Post and General Orders, plans, policies, and procedures.
- Observe and report all offenses/incidents.
- Complete all reports and paperwork as required.
- Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary.
- Must be able to wear protective body armor as a part of the duty uniforms.
- Maintain mandated training requirements in accordance with company guidance.
- Maintain physical fitness, agility requirements, and weapons qualifications.
- Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices.
- Support safety programs.
Participate in Quality and Process improvement programs.

- Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
A minimum of two (2) years of armed security or one (1) year of law enforcement experience in a full-duty status with a full-service police department in a municipality, state, or federal law enforcement department within the U.S, and has resigned or retired in good standing; or
- A minimum of two (2) years of honorable service as a member or any U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Cost Guard) component.
- Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend English, and be able to compose written reports in English.
- Language Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos using the English language.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating policies, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems, involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills:

Must be at least 21 years of age; Must be a United States citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or who possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component of the United States Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard); A Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration, which bears the individuals name and social security number is required. Must meet medical standards as specified by the contract.
