Luma Coffee is seeking a Kitchen Lead who is highly organized, self-motivated, and committed to excellence in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is responsible for helping maintain the consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency of our kitchen operations while ensuring food is prepared with care and attention to detail. The Kitchen Lead plays a key part in supporting the overall flow of the café by managing prep, keeping systems organized, and executing daily responsibilities with a high level of ownership and professionalism.
The Kitchen Lead is expected to manage kitchen responsibilities with consistency, urgency, and attention to detail. This includes food prep, station organization, cleanliness, stocking, labeling, following recipes and procedures, and helping ensure that kitchen output is timely and consistent.
This role requires strong time management, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to keeping the kitchen running smoothly throughout the day. Candidates should be comfortable standing for long periods of time, lifting 20–30 pounds, moving efficiently during busy periods, and maintaining high sanitation and food safety standards at all times. Clear communication with leadership and coworkers is essential, especially as it relates to inventory needs, prep priorities, and daily execution.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and internally motivated. They take pride in doing things the right way, keeping their space clean, and staying ahead of what needs to be done without constant direction. They are strong communicators, able to work well with a team, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities without losing attention to detail.
