- Location: Unity Disposal & Recycling
- Reports to: Operations Manager
- Eligible Candidates will be responsible for driving a State-of-The-Art Garbage Truck on specified routes to mechanically and manually collect solid waste and transport it to appropriate disposal sites
- Daily work will involve driving trash truck & supporting helper/crew with heavy industrial lifting, lifting waist high, gripping with hands, moving at a brisk consistent pace, and occasional bending
- This position will also be responsible for safely, clean route efficiently, and professional customer service
- Ability to report to duty on-time (6:00 a.m.)
- A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, with an occasional Saturday as needed or as a result of sliding holidays or weather
- Perform Complete Pre/Post-Trip Inspections and periodic inspections throughout working tour
- Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste
- Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the Supervisor or Dispatcher
- Ability to perform and support manual trash pickups with the assistance of 1-Helper

- Operate vehicle safely and in all types of inclement weather
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities
- Must be able to communicate internally and externally using professional interpersonal skills and good customer service techniques
- Must be able to follow Supervisor/Dispatch directives to include supporting other area routes in cases of volume overages, equipment breakdowns, etc
- Work environment involves working with moving mechanical parts (i.e., Totter Lift) requiring basic safety precautions
Although in driving capacity the majority of time, Driver is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and normal vehicle vibration
