• As a Senior Software Engineer you will build and maintain the core software that powers Beam's mission, working across frontend and backend technologies to design and deliver practical, scalable solutions from specification to production
• You will collaborate closely with product and engineering, help level up development practices, mentor teammates, and contribute to on-call support for production infrastructure
• Plan and refine new solutions through collaboration with product and engineering teams using RFC and Tech Spec documents
• Drive the execution of projects throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Share knowledge through code reviews, pair programming, 1:1 conversations, and team trainings
• Participate in on-call rotation for production infrastructure support
• Develop subject matter expertise in key areas of the Beam technology stack
• Gain knowledge of the nonprofit giving and e-commerce enablement spaces
• Foster a team culture aligned with values of community, inclusivity, care, accountability, and support

Strive for continuous improvement through goal setting, feedback, and growth opportunities

• 4+ years building production systems for complex web applications
• Proficient in developing web applications using a Java
• Script-based framework such as React, Next
• JS, or similar
• Proficient in web architecture principles and API design
• Proficient with relational databases, particularly Postgre
• SQL

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain and advocate for technical projects to non-technical roles

Familiar with observability, performance optimization, continuous integration, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure

## Compensation & Benefits

• Expected annual compensation range: $181,500-203,500 USD
• Base salary $165,000-185,000 USD
• Up to 10% annual bonus based entirely on individual performance
