We are excited to announce that we have an opening in our Clarksburg, MD office for a Director of Field Support & Validation. This reports into the VP of Program and Product management and will manage multiple customer-facing teams integrating and testing our communication systems with clients both CONUS and OCONUS.

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Field Support , Field OPS, and Product Validation organizations across multiple product lines.
  • Define and execute the Field Support and Product Validation plans and strategies to ensure successful product deployment, system performance, and customer satisfaction across TDSI programs.
  • Monitor and optimize KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics for the team while driving continuous improvement.
  • Act as main point of contact with Program Offices, both internal and external, while serving as an escalation point for critical customer issues, providing clear communication, risk mitigation, and resolution strategies.

Partner closely with other internal functional areas, such as Engineering, Program & Product Management, Quality, and Manufacturing, to ensure effective issue resolution, validation readiness, and feedback loops into future areas of product development.

  • Maintains, upholds, and improves on the program objectives and goals for subsystem and system testing.

Assists in analyzing system requirements and reviews technical product/program specifications to assess and evaluate overall test objectives, configurations, and criteria for the product/program. This may include complete product requirements such as hardware, firmware, documentation, licenses, etc.

  • Reviews/reports all data/metrics obtained during testing activities to ensure consistency with the policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Government/Customer Furnished Equipment in managed in accordance with internal processes and procedures, and US Government regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's operating policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities can include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; creating effective staff plans - assigning and directing work; performance appraisals, rewarding and management of employee discipline when required; and addressing complaints and resolving conflicts. Active mentoring and development of staff is a critical element of the supervisory responsibilities to create a highly performing cohesive team.

  • Required Experience:
  • 10+ years’ experience including knowledge of user community support and validation initiatives and maintenance concepts.
  • At least 5 years of managing a team responsible for customer implementations with tactical communications, with a strong emphasis on MANET networks.

  • A background in wireless networking with an understanding of tactical waveforms including: SGFH, IW, MUOS and TSM.
  • Move/lift/configure equipment for 40-50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Willingness to travel 50% as a minimum is necessary. Travel may be to anywhere in the world to support training users of our equipment – domestic and internationally.
  • Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience.

The annualized pay range for this role is $180,886-$231.132 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 15%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
