Link enables customers to checkout in just 6 seconds, increasing conversion rates for Stripe’s merchants by over 7%. Link is available on the sites of hundreds of thousands of merchants—customers can save payment info on any Link-supported site, and pay in one click across the Link merchant network. Link is built into merchants’ existing payments integrations on Stripe, with no additional charges or fees.

• What you’ll do

We're hiring an Engineering Manager to work on Link’s Payments team. Millions of consumers already use Link every year, and our goal is to build even more flexibility by offering consumers the ability to pay with their desired payment methods when they transact with Link, across all Stripe merchants, regardless of geography or business model.

• Drive Product Innovation: Build novel Link payment capabilities designed to move the needle on conversion for businesses and create seamless value for consumers.
• Navigate Product-Market Fit: Lead the team through rapid iteration to find product-market fit, building a diverse suite of products both at the point of checkout and in adjacent consumer spaces.
• Full-Stack Ownership: Enable your team to work across a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies, empowering them to own and solve complex problems from end-to-end.
• Operational Excellence: Design and lead engineering processes that allow the team to do its best work while engaging effectively with the broader Stripe ecosystem.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate deeply with stakeholders across Product, Design, Data Science, Operations, Partnerships, and Marketing to align on strategy and execution.
• Team Growth & Mentorship: Actively develop the engineers on your team, providing the coaching and opportunities they need to advance in their careers.
• Strategic Recruiting: Partner with Stripe’s recruiting team to identify and hire world-class engineering talent to scale the Link organization.
• Who you are
• Minimum requirements
• 5+ years of experience directly managing and growing software engineering teams.
• Proven track record of managing teams of 8+ engineers focused on shipping high-scale, consumer-facing, or infrastructure products.
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to engage deeply with engineers on architecture, system design, and technical trade-offs across the stack.
• User-First Mindset: A strong sense of empathy for the consumer and a drive to advocate for exceptional, low-friction user experiences.
• Operational Excellence: Experience thriving in a fast-paced, autonomous environment, managing multiple high-impact workstreams simultaneously.
• Preferred qualifications
• Experience with financial product companies and interest in financial products and markets
• Productively lead fully remote teams
• Experience managing mobile teams, shipping both production apps and SDKs
• Hybrid work at Stripe
• This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).
• In-office expectations: Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in their local office to balance in-person collaboration with personal flexibility.
• Working remotely: Remote Stripes work regularly from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs to remote locations.
