We own critical moments across the customer journey; from first touch and activation to expansion and long-term success. The work we do includes identifying high-impact opportunities, running experiments, and building experiences that measurably improve activation, engagement, and retention.
As a Product Manager on the Growth team at MongoDB, you’ll own a squad focused on improving the developer experience across MongoDB Atlas. You’ll turn ambiguous growth opportunities into clear product bets and measurable business outcomes through high-impact, data-informed initiatives that help developers succeed at every stage of their journey.
Activation focuses on enabling builders with intent to ship an application to find success on MongoDB as quickly and effectively as possible by reducing time to value, removing friction from the registration-to-activation funnel, and setting the standard for how developers onboard to Atlas.

Requires engineering-level instrumentation and data pipeline knowledge — The role explicitly calls for end-to-end journey instrumentation, including defining event schemas, conversion funnels, and cohort views. This requires the ability to architect analytics data flows and work directly with data science and engineering teams on targeting models and propensity scoring — skills rooted in a technical/engineering background Involves NoSQL database architecture and migration pattern expertise — MongoDB explicitly lists understanding of NoSQL databases and relational-to-NoSQL migration patterns as a role requirement. Evaluating and guiding these architectural decisions for enterprise customers requires the kind of systems-level database knowledge gained through engineering education and practice
Requires deep technical fluency in distributed database systems — The role demands hands-on understanding of MongoDB Atlas, a globally distributed, multi-cloud database architecture spanning AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. The candidate must be able to evaluate engineering tradeoffs in areas such as database scalability, multi-region deployments, and cloud-native infrastructure — knowledge that requires a formal engineering foundation Demands expertise in backend systems and API-driven product development — The position involves defining and shipping features such as project cloning, user role management, org-to-project patterns, and workload templates. These are deeply technical, backend-oriented product decisions requiring the candidate to work fluently alongside software engineers on APIs and system architecture Leads a cross-functional engineering squad in a product-led growth (PLG) environment — The candidate will own and direct an engineering squad responsible for building growth infrastructure, including in-app messaging systems, lifecycle automation, and conversion optimization tooling. Prior software engineering experience or technical education is listed as a preferred qualification precisely because the role requires the ability to assess technical feasibility, scope engineering work, and maintain credibility with engineering peers
